AIK is facing a busy winter and sporting director Thomas Berntsen has been open that up to six new players can be signed in for next season. Among other things, the club has been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after Samuel Brolin left for Kalmar FF and there one goal has been to find a Swedish keeper who can compete with Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
Now AIK is about to recruit from a competitor.
Recruits from MFF
According to information to Expressen, AIK is about to sign Ismael Diawara from the Swedish champions Malmö FF. The deal is largely done, only details will remain between the clubs, and if everything goes according to plan, the goalkeeper can travel to Stockholm in the days before he is officially presented.
Ismael Diawara has been open to leaving Malmö FF for a while. Already this summer there was talk of a transfer, but then the goalkeeper remained, and instead Diawara’s goal has been to find a new club during the winter. The 29-year-old played one Allsvenskan game for MFF last season, and in total he has played 32 games for the sky blue in the Allsvenskan.
Diawara has previously represented BK Forward and Degerfors IF. In addition to that, he also has seven A internationals for Mali on the merit list.
