On Wednesday January 26, 2022, customers are still flocking to the Aigue Marine Avenue de la Mer clothing store in Ouistreham (Calvados). The two sales assistants and the owner Annick Carlier are hard at work to advise and satisfy the requests of those who hope to arrive at the right time to take advantage of the latest bargains.
17 years at the head of the store
It must be said that it is a special day for Annick Carlier, it is her last day before closing due to retirement, after 17 years at the head of the store. After many years running the Epi d’Or bakery with her husband, she took advantage of an opportunity to go sell clothes. “The bakery had become too restrictive. The clothes, I like them, the fabrics, I know them well, I have an initial training in dry cleaning”. That morning, the customers express their regret to see her leave. For her part, she says she is divided, satisfied to retire, and also a little sad, because contact with customers has always been important to her.
Marie Roturier will reopen in February
She leaves a little moved, but she leaves the shop in the hands of her very close neighbor, Marie Roturier who has been running the clothing store, HA Caracter, since 2013. For her, it’s a new leap, a new experience, a new dimension. She goes from 25 to more than 100 m2, she will have two sales assistants in her new shop and initially, for lack of a buyer, she continues the season with HA Caracter, to which she remains very attached.
I’m going to finish settling in Aigue Marine, and HA Caracter isn’t closing. I will organize myself. With the two shops, I’m going to become a real manager, she jokes. I am very excited and ready to embark on this new challenge. I am by nature a very calm and positive woman, and I will face the difficulties when they arise.
Marie Roturier has planned the reopening of Aigue Marine in February 2022.
