The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) was selected to compete for the 2024 Versailles Awards (Prix Versailles) architecture award for Airports, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced this Thursday.
“Look: Felipe Ángeles International Airport @aifaaero was selected by the prestigious Prix Versailles award as one of the most beautiful architectural and design achievements in the world, on par with airports in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Bangkok, Boston and Kansas City” , commented the president on the X platform, where she shared a message from the official organizers of the award.
Announced every year at UNESCO since 2015, the Versailles Awards are a series of architectural competitions that highlight the best contemporary projects from around the world, according to its official website.
The official list of selected architectural developments “pays tribute to innovation, creativity, reflections of local heritage, ecological efficiency and the values of social interaction and participation, which the United Nations holds in high esteem,” according to the site , which details the selection “adjusts to the principles of intelligent sustainability, taking into account the ecological, social and cultural repercussions of the projects.”
