Alamine Oumane Mey announces that “on very high instructions from the President of the Republic”, she has taken out a double loan from the African Development Bank (ADB).
The Cameroonian minister signed on 29 September 2022 by exchanging notes with this partner. It has obtained financing agreements for a total amount of 143,993 euros, equal to approximately 94,538 billion CFA francs. 53.13 billion CFA francs are intended to finance the post-Covid-19 economic recovery support program, 41.408 CFA francs will be injected into the support program for the strengthening of agricultural production in Cameroon.
“The African Development Bank has once again demonstrated its readiness to support the Republic of Cameroon in the implementation of important areas of the policy of great opportunities of the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya. The post-Covid-19 economic recovery support program aims to contribute to the recovery of the Cameroonian economy through sustainable and inclusive growth by supporting the implementation of the so-called second generation reforms included in the national development strategy 2020-2030 “, says Alamine Ousmane Mey.
He said that the aim of this program is to improve the public finance management framework, as well as to strengthen the governance and competitiveness of productive sectors such as transport, energy, agriculture and industry.
