SALINAS, Calif., (KMUV-TV)— Units from the Red Cross and the gas and electric service, PG&E, are already at the collection centers to provide help and resources to the victims of Hurricane Helene. Now, with the soon arrival of Hurricane Milton, they remain firm to offer additional help, after the havoc that it may leave.
Hurricane Milton approaches Florida entering Sarasota on Wednesday night, according to meteorology experts, it could enter category 3 to 4.
FEMA reports federal aid for Hurricane Helene recovery exceeds $210 million, and is preparing for a two-pronged response with Hurricane Milton strengthening as it moves toward Florida’s Gulf Coast. Recently, Hurricane Helene hit that same region and part of the southeastern United States a couple of weeks ago.
Additionally, the National Weather Service in Miami issued tornado watches for several counties in the Tampa Bay area, including Hillsborough and Pinellas, until 9 p.m.
