Aid package for AUA mother Lufthansa is ready

The state rescue package for the German AUA mother Lufthansa is to be fixed in the coming days. Shortly afterwards, the AUA itself should be ready.

Vienna. The negotiations for state aid for the German flight group Lufthansa and its subsidiaries, like the domestic AUA, are in a constant up and down: If it was said at the end of April that an agreement was imminent, new problems arose in the weeks after and the talks then lasted. Then came the middle of the previous week that the state and the company had agreed and the package could be announced soon.

However, additional trenches opened up again – this time in the Berlin government’s request that, despite its economic problems, Lufthansa should remove all aircraft ordered from Airbus. Indirect help for another company, so to speak. On Monday, this issue was also solved. In the afternoon, Lufthansa announced that the company had reached an agreement with the state economic stabilization fund. Today, Tuesday, the package will once again be presented to the Lufthansa Executive Board and Supervisory Board – the latter should then have two days to decide on it. And the EU also has to give the state rescue its sanctions.
