Aid organizations accuse Dutch state of “possible co-responsibility for bombings in Gaza”

According to the aid organizations, the actions of the Israeli army are “obvious violations of the laws of war”. Reference is made to the army’s calls to leave cities and to the attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as schools and hospitals.

“The Dutch state must immediately stop supplying F-35 parts to Israel,” said lawyer Liesbeth Zegveld, who represents the aid organizations. “This is required under Article 1 of the Geneva Conventions and the Genocide Convention, which was introduced to prevent genocide.”

Zegveld also states that the Netherlands is violating its own export laws. Arms exports would be prohibited if “military goods could contribute to violations of human rights or international humanitarian law.” Since the Netherlands does not stop the supply of the parts, the country is partly responsible for the destruction caused by the warplanes in the Gaza Strip, the organizations argue.
