Aid organization Salzburg cooperates with Salzburg housing
Bergheim near Salzburg (pts033/05/11/2023/11:50) –
Especially in times of crises and conflicts, it is essential to move closer together and offer one’s help. Salzburg Wohnbau therefore works closely with the Salzburg aid organization and provides apartments for refugee aid.
The Aid organization Salzburg is again increasingly active in the field of refugee aid due to the current refugee situation. She is supported by the Salzburg residential building: A total of three apartments with 2, 3 or 5 rooms between 57 m² and 90 m² are available in Pinzgau. Having their own apartment should give refugee families security and enable them to find their way around more easily in their new environment.
“For us, providing apartments for refugee aid is an important measure and social responsibility that can help improve the lives of refugees and help them integrate into their new homeland,” says Managing Director DI Christian Struber.
A young Syrian woman and her two children – 3 and 6 years old – moved into an apartment in Lofer. Due to the war situation, she followed her husband, who fled to Austria two years ago and currently lives in Innsbruck. “The father was also present when the mother and her children arrived in Pinzgau. You can’t even imagine how the emotions ran high, a wonderful moment for the family,” says Silvia Deutschmann, who looks after the refugee projects in the aid organization. “As a result, family reunification is now being worked on.”
Two more apartments from Salzburg Wohnbau are available in Wald im Pinzgau. A father and his 16-year-old son were accommodated in one at the end of April, the second apartment is used as a shared apartment and was moved into by two other Syrian women and their three children this week.
The Salzburg aid organization now accompanies the families through everyday life. “In addition to accommodation, we support the families in integrating into society,” says Deutschmann. “We also help by arranging language courses and finding suitable childcare.” This support can help refugees develop their skills and talents and contribute to the well-being of their new home community.
