Because if half of this sum was used to reorganize and rearrange the association’s storage room as well as to acquire new material for food aid, the other half was used to buy, via the Agrilocal 03 platform. , local products in short circuits.
“In our packages, we put essential products”, explains Dominique Weil, vice-president of the association. “There can be rice, pasta, a little meat, preserves …”
“And thanks to this help, we were able to add, for example, short circuit eggs, local meat, or even potato pate. “

Impossible to acquire these products in normal times
And these products have had an impact on food aid recipients. “It was a first attempt for us and the people were really happy,” said Richard Piotrowski, assistant treasurer.
These are better quality products and therefore a little more expensive. Without this help, we would not have been able to afford it. There was the opportunity to do it. And if we can, we’ll do it again.

But for the moment, the association will unfortunately not be able to continue, for lack of sufficient means. “The beneficiaries have to pay a contribution. The objective is therefore not to increase the price of parcels. Once the aid is spent, it will be over, probably at the end of June. “
