AICM resumes operations after heavy rain

He Mexico City International Airport (AICM) reported that after the heavy rains that occurred this afternoon and that led to a suspension of approximately 40 minutes, operations have resumed.

Through its Twitter account, the air terminal indicated that landings and take-offs are already being carried out as normal.

This airport is the main one in the country, moving more than 50 percent of the passengers who use air transport.

July 23 the expansion of Terminal 2 was inaugurated from the airport, which had an investment of 497 million pesos.

The expansion consists of the installation of seven fixed positions to receive aircraft with between 90 and 130 passengers, which translates into 1,300 passengers per hour and 4 million per year.

And it is that in Terminal 2 around 9 million passengers moved a year through remote locations, that is, they had to be transferred by buses to airplanes.

Although the covid-19 epidemic continues, the AICM already registers an operation of 45 percent capacity.
