[Aichi Quick Freagairt Sònraichte]Red Ribbon Team Attacks: Maybe You Don’t Know Enough About AIDS! |. PeoPo citizen journalism

Hi! Do you think you know enough about AIDS? Come check out Team Red Ribbon’s new challenge! The Taiwan Red Ribbon Foundation recently held an exciting “Aichi Quick Answer Special”, Red Ribbon social worker Xiao Yi led a group of passionate workers to directly address the AIDS issues we think which we understand, but which we do not know.

Is HIV the same as AIDS?
This is a very common misconception, and it seems that everyone has got it right! But Xiao Yi still came up with a wave of popular science: “HIV is a human immunodeficiency virus, and AIDS immunodeficiency syndrome is acquired. They are not the same thing. HIV can cause AIDS, but that does not mean that people infected with HIV will definitely get AIDS. It doesn’t matter, as long as everyone has figured it out!

Are there only three ways to contract HIV?
Yes, that’s right! But do you really understand? Unprotected sexual intercourse, blood exchange and direct mother-to-child transmission are the three main ways of infection. But don’t forget, HIV can be hidden in body fluids, such as semen, prostatic fluid, vaginal secretions, and even breast milk and rectal mucosal secretions! Is this clear enough?

Can HIV be transmitted by swimming, chewing, kissing, and eating together?
Don’t worry, none of these will give you HIV! Xiaoyi reminds everyone that saliva, sweat, feces, urine and other excretions are harmless, and there is no need to worry about getting infected if you come into contact with them in your daily life.

What is the window period for HIV?
The window period is the time when people cannot catch the virus: the virus is already causing trouble in your body, but the screening test hasn’t caught it yet! At this time, although your screening test is negative, do not think that you are fine. There is a contagion in your body! In addition, during the acute infectious period (2-6 weeks) of AIDS disease, you may experience cold-like symptoms, but note that only half of people with AIDS will experience these symptoms! As long as you have risky behavior, you will also have AIDS. It is better to know how to use condoms correctly or take contraceptives to protect your health!

Through this “Aichi Quick Answer Special”, the Red Ribbon Foundation hopes to help everyone break down the myths about AIDS, so that we can all understand AIDS more accurately and stay away from fear and unnecessary prejudice! This is not just a challenge of knowledge, but also a call for love and understanding. Young people, it’s time to stand up and join the Red Ribbon Team to break stereotypes, protect yourself and those around you, and prevent AIDS from being a shadow in our lives !

Join us to share this cool event, let more people understand the importance of AIDS prevention and treatment, and let love and knowledge spread to all corners!
