BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – Ice cream company Next to her is building a factory in the region Sumatra precisely in the special economic zone of the Sei Mangkei region.

Brand Manager AICE Sylvana Zhong Group said, initially the factory which is currently in the construction phase, is targeted to be completed by the end of 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the construction process was disrupted.

“At first our target was completed in December, but because there was a pandemic so it failed this year,” he said while visiting the factory area Aice ice cream in Bekasi, Saturday (4/7/2020).

He said, the pandemic condition made the process of importing machinery needed for construction still unable to enter Indonesia.

“Because of the pandemic, the process of importing the machinery needed is also constrained and cannot enter Indonesia as well,” he said.

For this reason, he shifted the target of the completion of the plant to next year.

“Actually, we don’t know when it will be finished, hopefully next year 2021 will be finished. But if the pandemic is still ongoing and is still prolonged, we cannot be sure when it will be over,” he said.

Meanwhile, Legal Manager of PT Alpen Food Industry Simon Audry Halomoan Siagian said that the factory to be built in Sumatra has the same area as the Aice factory in East Java. However, the building model will be made even better compared to factories in East Java and Bekasi.

“In East Java, the area is around 4,412 square meters, in terms of area, the plan is the same as this. But if the building model seems to be better in Sumatra,” he explained.

In addition, in terms of investment, the factory to be built in Sumatra will also cost a lot more than the factory in East Java. It’s just that for the nominal investment figures, he still can not mention.

“The point is that investment for the construction of factories in East Java and Sumatra totals more than Rp 500 billion,” he said.
