During the last Paris Fashion Week, there was one item that caught our attention, but it wasn’t a piece of clothing. At the brand’s parade Coveredmodels were seen wearing the AI Pin, an intelligent digital assistant that attaches to clothing using a magnet and can be used on any part of clothing. The device, designed by the company Humanehas not yet been officially released, but it has generated a lot of curiosity.

The AI Pin is a standalone device and is designed with artificial intelligence (AI), as if it were a wearable Alexa. With its compact format, the equipment was designed to easily integrate into users’ daily lives, and does not need to be paired with a smartphone or other device and uses several sensors that allow natural interactivity.
With privacy as a priority, AI Pin does not have a keyword to wake up, like Alexa, from Amazon yes Siri, yes Apple, since it is not always listening. Additionally, the device features AI-powered eye recognition.
During a conference given by Imran Chaudhri, one of the founders of Humane, at the beginning of this year, two other features of the equipment were shown. The first was real-time translation from English to French – to do this, you need to keep the equipment button pressed. The second was the projection of messages onto the palm of the hand, as well as a phone call alert.
Continues after advertising
The company has been showing off the device for a while now, but hasn’t shared details about how the AI assistant is supposed to work. The launch is scheduled for November 9th. Humane was founded by two former Apple designers who were responsible for creating electronics such as the iPod, iPad, Apple Watch and iPhone, in addition to the brand’s operating systems, iOS and macOS.
In partnership with the French brand Coperni, the object made its first appearance in the “pockets” of supermodels such as Naomi Campbell. The French brand’s founders and designers, Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, became known during fashion week for their technological stunts, such as: making a dress live on the show with spray-on fabric and releasing robot dogs onto the catwalk.
