Businesses have been using AI technology for years to cut costs and increase production and profits. However, the emergence of so-called generative AI and ChatGPT in November 2022 has helped AI become a core technology for everyday use by companies of all industries and activities.
AI finds at least 15 ways of application and fields of use in modern entrepreneurship, she points out Mary Pratt of US sales promotion company TechTarget. “Virtual assistants” are a classic example of the integration of AI applications by businesses to develop new offers, improve their telecommunications platform and ultimately their communication with the outside world.
AI is therefore evolving into an ally of employees in the business to improve their performance. “We’re talking about a tool that allows workers to do things they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do,” notes Mike Mason of consulting firm Thoughtworks.
Knowledge access and organization is also an area where generative AI offers invaluable services to businesses and workers, making it easier to find, organize and summarize useful information and records.
The ability to optimize AI applications is directly linked to this use. Through algorithms and modeling it is possible to turn a wealth of information into a set of extremely useful solutions. “Thus, the productivity of the company and its executives is enhanced,” emphasizes Mr Srikar Krishna of KPMG.
However, it is important that businesses ensure that the use of AI is based on clear guidelines.
And also to determine who is responsible when something goes wrong. “The key is to always have a human who can be held accountable even when decisions are made entirely by AI.”
