Pages circulated on social media, pictures that were said to show the American actor, Tom Cruise, accompanied by his likenesses who perform scenes about him in the well-known action films.
But the images are not real and are only the product of an artificial intelligence program. And the pictures show American actor Tom Cruise with people who look a lot like him.
The publishers commented, “Tom Cruise celebrates with his replacements after completing filming the seventh part of the Mission: Impossible series.”
Tom Cruise, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, is famous for doing most of the stunts in his roles himself. He had previously fractured his ankle during the filming of the previous Mission: Impossible movie.
As for the pictures that claim to show him with “replacement actors”, and have been widely circulated in several languages, they are not real.
Among the suspicious elements that appear in the hands, and the merging of the skin color with the color of the white shirt, in addition to the bright skin color, are likely to be generated by artificial intelligence.
In light of this, a search of the image’s origin on search engines leads to a post on a Medjourney-generated image Facebook group.
The publisher of the images requested, in a comment accompanying them, that his name or the name of the program he used to generate them be mentioned if they were published.
He also confirmed in comments in response to user questions that the images are not real and generated by artificial intelligence.
And before that, he had published in the same group pictures of other actors with their likenesses, such as Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
After it was widely circulated, the designer published screenshots of the posts that shared the images with the misleading claim expressing his astonishment.
