It was created by a programmer named Vedal, who just wanted to do a fun experiment. In addition to playing, Neuro-sama can also chat, and this is where problems arose that have already caused outrage among female players.
Since Neuro-sama is not a human being, many tried to ask her complicated questions, which she answered in the style of artificial intelligence. For example, when she was asked what she thinks about women’s rights, she Neuro-sama stated that they don’t exist. Portal Kotaku turned to the creator of Neuro-sama for comments, to which he tried to justify himself:
The controversial things he says are due to the fact that he tries to make witty and funny comments on everything that is written in the chat. Aligning AI with human values is an ongoing area of research. I’m working hard to improve the filters used for this. The data from which it learns is also manually processed to moderate negative biases. We also have a team of Twitch chat moderators who monitor everything he says.
