THIRUVANANTHAPURAM > Road accident death rate has reduced in the state after installation of AI cameras. An average of 12 road accident deaths occur in Kerala every day. According to this, 48 deaths should have occurred in four days. But 28 deaths occurred after the introduction of the AI camera system. 3,52,730 violations were detected from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on the 5th when the cameras started working. Of these, 80,743 were clarified by Keltron. 19,790 cases were uploaded in the Integrated Transport Monitoring System and 10,457 were issued penalty notices. Failure to wear seat belts by backseat passengers in the car accounted for the highest number of violations at 7,896. Car driver not wearing seat belt 4,993, two-wheeler rider without helmet 6,153, two-wheeler rider not wearing helmet 715, triple ride on two-wheeler 6, mobile phone use 25, over speeding 2. 56 VIP vehicles arrested in PT 56 government vehicles and VIP vehicles violated the law. 54 out of which penalty notices have been sent.
