“Mas AHY’s meeting with Pak Surya is also scheduled for tomorrow,” NasDem DPP president Willy Aditya told reporters on Tuesday (10/25/2022).
However, Willy did not confirm in detail the location of AHY’s meeting with Surya Paloh. The meeting, Willy said, was just like a family reunion.
“Tomorrow is the plan, the place will follow later. The meeting is uncle and nephew, just talk,” Willy explained.
Previously, senior officials from the NasDem, Democrat and PKS parties who were members of a small team held a meeting to discuss the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) at the Anies Baswedan residence this afternoon. President of the Democrats Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) is known for joining the meeting.
In a photo received by detik.com on Tuesday (10/25/2022), the elites of the three parties were seen chatting together at a dinner table. The event was also attended by Anies Baswedan, Sugeng Suparwoto, Willy Aditya, M. Sohibul Iman, Pipin Sofian, M. Kholid, Iftitah. Benny K Harman and Sudirman Said.
NasDem DPP chairman Willy Aditya said the small team meeting continued the discussion on the maturing of the coalition. According to him, the discussion of the small team was in the process of deepening the criteria and mechanism for determining the candidate for vice president who accompanied Anies.
“In a relaxed atmosphere, Small Team discussions continued to finalize the agenda, the Vice President discussion deepened the criteria and mechanisms,” Willy told reporters on Tuesday (10/25/2022).
“AHY came later,” he added.
Willy said the discussion was tough because the three political parties had not yet reached an agreement. Willy said PKS proposed the name of the vice president of the PKS Syuro Council, Ahmad Heryawan or Aher, while the Democrats offered the name AHY.
“The discussions took place dynamically and were difficult because NasDem handed it over to the presidential candidate and the PKS proposed that Ahmad Heriawan and the PD offer AHY,” he said.
