Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) young figure and chairman of Ganjarian, Mohamad Guntur Romli alias Gun Romli also commented on the chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (ME) who saw and tested the Esemka car at the Indonesia International Motor Show exhibition or IIMS 2023.
Gun Romli satirized Democratic Party supporters who said Esemka was a supernatural vehicle. So, he said, if the car is considered magical, how could AHY be able to see and try it at the exhibition?
“The buzzers of the Democratic Party say, Esemka is a magic car. That means only supernatural people can take photos with a magic car, right?” wrote Gun Romli on Twitter, including a photo of AHY posing in front of Esemka’s car, quoted on Monday (20/2).
It is known that AHY on Saturday (18/2) visited the Esemka booth at the IIMS 2023 exhibition. Not only looking around, AHY also tried out the Esemka electric car by entering its cabin.
On that occasion, AHY hoped that Esemka’s car would not be used as a political commodity. Because, he said, Esemka should be a ‘vessel’ or gathering place for creative young people in Indonesia.
“I hope (Esemka) won’t be used as a political commodity, yes, because of the enthusiasm of the nation’s children, they can work and be creative and get space to present the products we use,” said AHY when met by media crew at the exhibition site, Saturday ( 18/2) yesterday.
According to AHY, competition in the four-wheeled industry in Indonesia is currently very tight. Because the players come from many countries. That is why, to be able to win the competition, Esemka must innovate more.
“Because we know the automotive industry is extremely competitive, coming from various countries in the world, from various brands, but we hope that the nation’s own children can produce quality works,” he said.
