Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said Democrats would form a coalition with NasDem Party and PKS. He said the declaration of the ideal change coalition would also declare the presidential candidates and cawapres to be run in the 2024 elections at the same time.
“Today we continue to communicate intensively with 2 other parties namely NasDem and PKS to present an axis or coalition for change. Ideally we declare a coalition as well as declarations for presidential candidates and cawapres,” AHY said after the nationwide celebration Democratic Party Christmas Celebration, Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Sunday (8/1/2023).
AHY admitted that he was unable to disclose when the time was right to announce the names of the three-party presidential and vice-presidential candidates. According to him, the three parties have seriously maintained friendship and political communication.
“But again it’s time for us to keep building momentum and keep going there. I can’t explain there when the final moment will be, but what is clear is that we continue to have serious discussions and of course strengthen the friendship and political communication between the three of us,” AHY said.
He hopes the coalition for change can be built and win the 2024 election so that big changes can be made. Therefore, AHY is not reckless in making common choices.
“What is clear is that we want to be part of a big effort for change and this can be done if this coalition is built and wins. what we call a process until it’s really solid, not forced, not rash, but not too late either.
