In the quarterfinal match at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Friday (13/1/2023) afternoon WIB, Ahsan/Hendra found it difficult to get out of the pressure from Kang/Seo. They eventually lost 13-21, 21-19, 11-21.
Ahsan/Hendra continued to be under pressure from Kang/Seo in the first game. The sharp attacks from Kang/Seo were difficult for Ahsan/Hendra to suppress.
After losing the first game 13-21, Ahsan/Hendra tried to get back up in the second game. After falling behind at the start of the second game, Ahsan/Hendra slowly caught up.
Ahsan/Hendra got a lot of points by not lifting the ball too much. They overtook Kang/Seo and came back 12-8.
However, Ahsan / Hendra was then chased. The two pairs were involved in a tight battle until a 19-19 draw. Ahsan/Hendra were able to secure this game in the end.

Indonesia still has men’s doubles representatives in the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Open 2023. Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will face the host representative, Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi after the match Viktor Axelsen vs Kenta Nishimoto and Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen vs Liang Wei Keng/ Wang Chang.
