Ahsan Hendra Prepares a Strategy to Face Lee Wang to Qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Finals : Okezone Sports

TOKYO Indonesia’s flagship men’s doubles pair, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan will meet Taiwan representatives, Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin in the badminton semifinals Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In dealing with Lee/Wang, Ahsan/Hendra also admitted that they already had the right strategy to overthrow the pair.

One strategy is to take over the game early in the game. According to Hendra’s explanation, he and Ahsan had to play well since the first game.

Hendra felt that he could not lose starting from Lee / Wang. Because if Lee/Wang manages to take over the game first, then Ahsan/Hendra will find it difficult to catch up.

So, Hendra feels that careful preparation is very important. In addition to preparation, strong mentality is also considered by Hendra to be very important.

Because the longer the opponents faced the stronger. Moreover, there will be much heavier pressure because now they have played in the semifinals of the badminton sport at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

“For tomorrow, we have to be more prepared, more courageous because the opponent is also getting tougher. We have to start from the beginning, we can’t lose the start,” explained Hendra, as reported by PBSI, Thursday (29/7/2021).

In line with Hendra, Ahsan also believes that proper preparation will be the key to their success in winning against Lee/Wang. Ahsan also said that he and Hendra are currently focused on facing Lee/Wang and do not want to think about medals.

“We don’t want to think about medals first, there are still a few more matches and the opponents will be tough, so we just want to focus and prepare ourselves first,” continued Ahsan.

If Ahsan/Hendra can win against Lee/Wang in the semifinals which will take place on Friday 30 July 2021, then at least one of Indonesia’s best men’s doubles will win silver.

However, of course, it is hoped that Ahsan / Hendra can win the remaining two matches to be able to win a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Daddies are now Indonesia’s biggest hope in awarding a gold medal from the men’s doubles sector.

Ahsan/Hendra got the only hope because their compatriots, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, had already fallen in the quarter-finals after losing to representatives from Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik.
