This was revealed by Ayu Thalia’s lawyer, Fredy Limantara. He hopes that the police will resolve the case with his client with Ahok’s son through restorative justice.
“Yes, there is hope that there is (restorative justice) there, if it can be done restorative justice is much better, because peace is beautiful,” Fredy told reporters, Thursday (20/1/2022).
“We’ll just have to wait until next week when the suspect is questioned,” he added.
As previously reported, the police have named Ayu Thalia a suspect in the defamation case based on a report from Nicholas Sean Purnama, who is the son of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok). Ayu Thalia also hopes that there will be a peaceful way out of this case.
“Maybe the plan is, if there is a peaceful way, why go to war. It is possible,” said Ayu Thalia’s attorney, Fredy Limantara, when met at the North Jakarta Metro Police, Thursday (20/1).
Ferdi said so far his party had not communicated with Sean. However, according to him, it is possible for Ayu Thalia to open communication with Sean to pursue a peaceful path.
Sean Refuses Peace
Ayu Thalia has conveyed the hope of making peace with Sean. However, the peace room was closed by Sean.
“My client in principle wants the legal process to proceed transparently,” said Sean Purnama’s lawyer, Ahmad Ramzy, when contacted, Thursday (20/1).
There are a number of reasons why Sean Purnama refuses to make peace with Ayu Thalia. According to Ramzy, the slander that Ayu Thalia has done has damaged the good name of her client and family.
“There was no word of peace after the slander done by AT to Nicho,” Ramzy said.
In addition, Ramzy said that his client hopes that the case that happened to Ayu Thalia can be a lesson for others not to make statements without any basis.
Ayu Thalia has been named a suspect in the defamation case filed by Sean Purnama at the South Jakarta Metro Police. He was charged with Articles 310 and 311 of the Criminal Code.
