President Commissioner of PT Pertamina, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, responds to reports of allegations corruption submitted by the National Axis of Corruption Eradication (PNPK) to the Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP).
Ahok was previously reported by PNPK to the KPK regarding a number of alleged corruption cases while still serving as the Governor of DKI Jakarta. Two of them relate to the Sumber Waras Hospital and Cengkareng land. According to Ahok, the case has already been investigated.
“Thanks for the info. Please [mengirimkan tautan pemberitaan terkait kasus-kasus yang dilaporkan PNPK yang sudah diperiksa], ” said Ahok to CNNIndonesia.com through a written statement.
Ahok shared a news article dated June 14, 2016, in which the then Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Agus Rahardjo, stated that there was no unlawful act related to the purchase of the Sumber Waras Hospital land. With that, the case is over.
Then Ahok shared a news article dated March 9, 2021, which contained the South Jakarta District Court’s rejection of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Pretrial application regarding the alleged corruption case in Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
Previously, the PNPK, which consisted of Adhie Massardi and Marwan Batubara, reported Ahok to the KPK for a number of cases of alleged corruption. The reports of these cases were when Ahok was still serving as the Governor of DKI Jakarta.
There are at least seven cases of alleged corruption referred to as PNPK involving Ahok, namely Sumber Waras Hospital, land in BMW Park, Cengkareng Barat land, CSR funds, Jakarta Bay reclamation, non-budgetary funds and evictions.
“Some of these cases have even been investigated by the KPK under the previous leadership, but it is not clear what happens next,” said Adhie to the media crew at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday (6/1).
Meanwhile, the KPK promised to study the report by verifying and reviewing the information submitted.
Plt. Spokesperson for KPK Enforcement, Ali Fikri, explained that the KPK carried out verification to determine whether the complaint was a corruption crime or not. Verification was also carried out to ensure that the report was under the authority of the KPK or not.
“If these two elements are met, the KPK will of course follow up on it in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” said Ali.
