South Korean champion Ahn Se-young won the women’s singles gold medal in badminton at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

South Korean champion Ahn Se-young won the women’s singles gold medal in badminton at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Monday.

Si Young won her first Olympic medal after defeating China’s He Ping Jiao with scores of 13/21 and 16/21 in the final match.

The South Korean champion also gave her country its first badminton medal since the 1996 Olympics.

As for China’s He Ping Jiao, she settled for silver after losing the final, also getting the first Olympic medal of her professional career.
