The honorary chairman of DPS Ahmed Dogan is about to lose his ownership of the summer residence in Rosenets, which he lived in for many years. Formally, the mansion on the seashore belongs to the company “Hermes Solar”, Dogan’s participation in it is indirect, through the TPP “Varna” and the company “Sigda Investment”.
But on August 16, an important change of ownership was entered in the Commercial Register, the investigative journalism team #BirdBG revealed in a Facebook post.
Dogan’s ownership is hidden in a series of related companies, BIRD explains: Since February this year. “Hermes Solar” is 95% owned by “Port Logistics Burgas” – EOOD, which is 100% owned by “TEC Varna”, which since January of this year is owned by “Sigda Investment” AD, in which Ahmed Dogan and Danail Papazov are shareholders with 50% each.
However, there is another application for a change of ownership in the Commercial Register, which concerns the Varna TPP. If this change is entered, Dogan will lose his most important assets.
Ahmed Dogan is co-owner of Varna TPP with Danail Papazov – first through the company “Sigda”, then – through a new company “Sigda Investment”. A few days ago, Papazov submitted for entry in the Commercial Register an application for a change of company owner, which would in practice terminate Dogan’s relationship with TPP “Varna” JSC.
Papazov, a former cadre of the BSP, was the minister of transport in the Oresharski cabinet. In 2015, he was a candidate for mayor of Varna and it was claimed that Peevski and DPS were behind him. Papazov denied this “rumor”. But he did not hide that he has known Peevski “since November 1, 2001, when we were both appointed to the board of the Port of Varna on the same day.”
Dogan’s capital residence – in Boyana – is also under threat. Its owner is the Delta Epsilon company, which owns the Varna TPP, so if the takeover there goes through, control over this estate will also be lost, Capital predicts.
