Al-Marsad newspaper: Ahmed Al-Tantawi, the candidate and potential rival of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in the upcoming Egyptian presidential elections, appeared in a video clip in the historic city of Rashid, Beheira Governorate, among dozens of his supporters.
The video documented a large number of Egyptians gathering around Tantawi, some chanting, “We want Tantawi, the president,” while some raised a picture of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and placed it in front of banners.
Al-Tantawi called on his supporters to cling to hope and fight until they gain their rights to build the present and create the future.
The Egyptian presidential elections will be held next December, approximately four months after the end of President Sisi’s current term next April.
