PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) recently wrote to Honda PCX and ADV 160 owners to check and repair the unit at the AHASS workshop. According to a letter circulating on social media, some units of the two models have encountered problems with the CVT component, namely the Pulley Assy.
Rina Listiani, PT AHM Senior Manager Corporate Communication, said that not all owners of Honda PCX and ADV 160 have received a recall message or notification. Because, according to him, only bikes with a certain frame number are suspected of having component problems.
“Yes, not all of them. Just a few order numbers and this is all free,” Rina told detikOto on Saturday (9/24/2022).

So, the question is, how do we know if our Honda PCX and ADV 160 are affected by the AHM recall or not?
Now, for those who have Honda PCX 160 and ADV 160 at home, and are curious whether their bike is affected by the recall or not, can open the official AHM page, then scroll down the menu and select the Product Update option.
There you will be asked to fill in several important fields, starting with the vehicle owner’s name, mobile number, up to the vehicle’s chassis number. Data on subsequent vehicles will be available regardless of whether they are affected by the recall or not.

Damage to components of the Komponen pulley assembly
Earlier, in a widely circulated social media upload, AHM sent a notification letter to consumers why there was a problem with the Pulley Assy component on the Honda PCX and ADV 160.
AHM explained, there was an uneven thickness of the parts due to an imperfect manufacturing process. I’m afraid that if left on for too long, noise will appear in the CVT area and can result in reduced performance in that section.
Rina Listiani ensured that the recall program had started from September 2022. Her party took this step to ensure that consumer comfort and satisfaction were maintained.
“Yes, that’s right, we invited consumers to check and repair at the AHASS workshop. This program has been running since September and there have been several (consumers) who have brought their vehicles,” said Rina.
