Ahead of the release of the Galaxy S23, Samsung bosses promise a smarter camera and the fastest performance

Samsung is scheduled to introduce the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra lines.

Samsung has also just unveiled its newest camera sensor. Coming under the name ISOCELL HP2, this 200MP sensor has a size of 1/1.3 inches with 0.6μm pixels.

Quoted from GSM ArenaWednesday (18/1/2023), this sensor comes with new technology to improve the quality of the dynamic range and color reproduction.

In this sensor, Samsung includes a new pixel-binning technology called Tetra2pixel. In low-light environments, the HP2 can combine 4 pixels into 1 to produce 50MP resolution photos.

Meanwhile, for the ability of 16 pixels to 1, this camera sensor can produce 12.5MP resolution photos. Samsung’s new sensor also supports 8K video recording with the same technology when taking photos.

The HP2 can shoot 15fps burst images at its native resolution of 200MP. Armed with this ability, the HP2 is able to work twice as high as the HP3, and 50 percent more than the 100MP HM3 sensor.
