Sergio Aguero confirmed not to be forced Lionel Messi survive in Barcelona. He wants La Pulga to make decisions for his own good.
Messi’s contract at Barcelona expires on June 30, 2021. This means that the 33-year-old’s fate will be determined in a matter of days.
The Barcelona camp has offered Messi a new contract. Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, has also met with Messi’s agent and father, Jorge Messi, but no agreement has been reached.
Aguero’s presence at Camp Nou is rumored to be making Messi stay. That’s because both are good colleagues in the Argentine national team.
On the other hand, Aguero insists that he will not interfere with what Messi wants to decide. He does not want to be involved in his colleague’s future, although he would prefer Messi not to leave Barcelona.
“It’s up to him to make his decision. I will not push Leo to stay,” Aguero said at Argentina’s training camp, a day after being introduced as a Barcelona player.
“He’s great, really. He has to work it out with his agent,” Aguero added, quoted from Marca.
Aguero and Messi will work together to help the Albiceleste in the Copa America. The event took place in Brazil, after previously Argentina withdrew as the organizer due to an increase in cases of the Corona virus.
“Today everything here (in Argentina0 has collapsed. There are many infected. We have to take care of ourselves. We don’t know when we will get infected,” Aguero revealed.
“It took me a while to recover. I had a very difficult time and I am a player… You have to take care of yourself,” said Aguero as a player who has been exposed to the Corona virus.
