Aguascalientes participates in the International Security Meeting in Boston

At the invitation of the United States Embassy in Mexico and thanks to the diplomatic relationship between Aguascalientes and said delegation, the Secretary of Public Security of the State, Manuel Alonso García, participated in an international meeting of security leaders in Boston, Massachusetts.

Alonso García expressed that “the cooperation and exchange of experiences with police chiefs from other countries is enriching,” since it allows sharing effective strategies implemented in Aguascalientes and exploring areas for new actions for the benefit of citizens.

During the event, a bilateral meeting was held with Lesley Ziman, Assistant Secretary of the United States Department of State, in which crucial issues were discussed to strengthen collaboration in the fight against organized crime.

Among the featured conferences, “Collaborative strategies: Multidisciplinary support for victims and trust in the community” was addressed, a topic on which Aguascalientes is already working through social proximity and the support of specialized units, such as the Pink Police.

Another relevant conference was on the “New York State Crime Analysis Center”, where experiences were shared on the coordination of actions between the three levels of government in Aguascalientes, achieving positive results.

In addition, the topic “Breaking the glass ceiling” was presented. Releasing the power of gender balance in senior management roles in the police”, emphasizing the importance of the inclusion of women in management positions, where Aguascalientes has made significant progress.

Finally, there was a presentation on “Involvement Strategies for Police and Community Intervention to Reduce Violence”, where experiences were shared on the use of Bodycams and the Vecino Vigilante 4X4 program, which have contributed to reducing violence and improving security in the areas where they are implemented.
