Agrosuper and Fundación Fútbol Más will hold a seminar on school coexistence, “The role of sport in educational communities”, an activity aimed at professionals and students in the educational, social and sports areas, which will take place this Tuesday, September 3 at 2:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the University of O’Higgins.
The panel of speakers will be made up of regional authorities, academics and a former professional athlete, who will make their experiences and knowledge available to attendees with special emphasis on the importance of sport as a tool for social transformation.
In this context, the global executive director of Fundación Fútbol Más, Guillermo Rolando, emphasized the importance of having a space of this type. “What we want to put on the table is the power that sport has to provide tools for school coexistence in a context where we are facing difficulties. What we seek most is that the life tools that we make available to boys and girls are taken home by them,” he said.
The first authority to speak will be the regional secretary of Education for the O’Higgins region, Alyson Hadad, and her focus will be on the bill on Educational Coexistence “Good Treatment and Protected Spaces”. Meanwhile, the second block will be led by the regional secretary of Sports, Macarena Chandía, who will present the bill on Wellbeing and School Sports.
From the academic field, the person in charge of Community Relations at the University of O’Higgins, Paulina Rasso, will speak about the prevention of violence through sport, while, in the case of the Andrés Bello University, the former tennis player and director of the Institute of Sport and Wellbeing of this institution, Jaime Fillol, in the company of the academic director of the same institution, Paula Ortiz, will speak about the beauty of sport in human relations.
“Sport is more than a tool, it is really a social fact that helps us to come together, so we have to take a good look at it. That is what we are going to try to communicate during the seminar, since we already have a working agreement with the Fútbol Más Foundation that interests us a lot because of its purpose and objectives,” said the former professional tennis player.
This seminar is part of the Escuelas program, which Fundación Fútbol Más has been implementing in partnership with Agrosuper since 2020 in the O’Higgins Region, where, through sport and games, the aim is to promote healthy school coexistence among students and teachers.
Within this context, the Head of Community Relations at Agrosuper, María Inés Herrera, highlighted the achievements obtained by the initiative carried out in conjunction with the foundation. “Within our pillars of community relations, we have placed special focus on the education of children and young people. In this regard, we are very happy to be here working with Fundación Fútbol Más, which represents great values in this area, opening up space for us to contribute as a company to the school climate,” she said.
Agrosuper and Fundación Fútbol Más have had a 10-year partnership that aims to promote healthy school coexistence and enhance the socio-emotional development of children and young people through games and sports. Since 2014, it has benefited 1,366 students from schools in the communities of Rancagua, Mostazal, Codegua, San Vicente and Rengo, in the O’Higgins region.
