After 8 years of its launch Corn Plus continues to position itself as a strategic ally for producers, offering innovative solutions in the diagnosis and nutritional management of corn crops.
Through advanced soil analysis, which works like a “magnetic resonance” at the plot scale, Maíz Plus provides a detailed diagnosis of the chemical and physical state of the soil, allowing deficiencies and limitations that affect yield to be detected.
“Our detailed soil analysis allows producers to identify specific nutritional needs and make informed decisions to improve the efficiency and sustainability of their crops,” he said. Juan Pablo Alisio, manager of Maíz Plus, a development of Agroideas.
What could this data be?
Maíz Plus provides key data for more efficient agricultural management. Starting with something basic such as the evaluation of useful water in the soil profile before sowing and the climatic perspective, which allows adjusting the optimal sowing date to maximize yield; to, most importantly, personalized nutritional diagnosis, guaranteeing producers that they can optimize fertilization according to the exact needs of each lot and crop.
In response to the challenges posed by the pest in corn Dalbulus MaidisMaíz Plus has implemented intensive monitoring in the regions where it operates. This information allows producers to adjust their fertilization plans, hybrid selection, planting dates and densities, minimizing risks and improving corn crop planning.
The Maíz Plus program not only offers an accurate diagnosis, but also support in the implementation of agronomic recommendations, being together with those responsible for the planting, fertilization and harvesting tasks, ensuring that the prescriptions are executed effectively and in accordance with each lot.
Despite the challenges that the 2023/24 campaign brought due to the achaparramientothe Corn Plus analyzes showed a clear advantage in the plots where balanced fertilization necessary for each case was applied. On average, these plots exceeded those that received basic nitrogen or phosphorus treatments by 930 kilos per hectare, with peaks of up to 2,500 additional kilos per hectare in some cases.
“Proper nutrition in crops is key to dealing with stress and combating stunting in corn. Maíz Plus evaluates how far the yields obtained in each lot are compared to the existing potential, based on the analysis of yield gaps and gross margins,” he stated. Gaston Prada, agronomist and part of the management of Maíz Plus.
