Agrobanco It placed S / 440 million soles from the Direct Financing Program of the Agroperú Fund from July 2020 to August 24, 2021, benefiting 38,240 small agricultural producers organized through 1,344 associations nationwide, reported the aforementioned specialized state bank.

“We are going to continue working hard to consolidate ourselves as the leading specialized financial entity in rural microfinance in the country to effectively and efficiently support the policies and guidelines established by Midagri,” he said.
Having achieved the goal of placements through this program, Midagri initiated the procedures before the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) for the allocation of an additional 400 million soles, which are already insured, as they are contemplated in the budget for this year, he explained.
It is important to highlight that 13,265 women entrepreneurs in family farming, approximately 35% of the total, were benefited with the Direct Financing Program of Agroperú, thanks to the active participation of their associations, said Agrobanco.
The regions with the highest amount in placements through this program that promotes associativity were: Puno (11%), Arequipa (10%), Huánuco (9%), SanMartín (8%), Junín (7%), Ayacucho (7%) , Cajamarca (6%) and Cusco (5%), he explained. Likewise, the agricultural products with the highest financing were: cocoa (15%), coffee (15%), beef (14%), potato (11%) and corn (7%), reported.
