These projects were assessed by the expert jury on the basis of the dossiers. The main prize, endowed with 20,000 francs, went to the project “” Added value with a new cheese dairy “at the Alp Tannenboden cheese dairy in Flumserberg in St. Gallen.

As part of this project, a large new alpine cheese dairy was built in the Flumserberg region, which is intended to strengthen local production and offer farmers greater added value. This is operated by the farmers through the Flumserberg Alpine Cheese Association.

The Hoftötung wins the reader award

The readers of “Schweizer Bauer” and “Terre & Nature” awarded the reader award to the Blunier family from the shower organic farm in the Bündnerisches Paspels. The “Yard killing – stress-free slaughter” project enables the Bluniers to kill their animals directly on the farm and thus save them the stressful journey to the slaughterhouse. In doing so, they not only respond to a customer need, but also strengthen cooperation between small local businesses.

The special price goes to the Row Chipper

The special price SLV was awarded by a separate jury of Swiss Agricultural Machinery Association forgive. It went to the Row Chipper equipment carrier from Ruedi Emch from Oberbottigen. The trained farmer has been dealing with mechanical weed control in row crops for a long time, writes Emmental Versicherung. The Row Chipper is an exemplary combination of mechanics, IT, hydraulics and electronics of modern agricultural technology “Made in Switzerland”, according to the press release.

The tinkerer designed a hoeing implement carrier with a steering drawbar and steering axle with compressed air brake. This is attached to the K80 ball coupling. And this is how it works: The GPS receiver on the implement carrier transfers the signal from the tractor’s steering system to its steering axle with RTK precision. This means that the tractor’s front axle is not relieved and the rear axle and tires are not overloaded. In addition, the steering axis automatically corrects every curve and drift movement.
