Agriculture: unions demand the missions of AGASA – AGP

Libreville, October 18 (AGP) – The Agricultural Unions challenged the authorities, this Wednesday, October 18, during a press conference, on the technical unemployment of agents of the said administration, following the creation of the Gabonese Food Safety Agency (AGASA).

“The coalition of unions from the Ministry of Agriculture has today drawn the attention of the highest authorities of the State to the overwhelming situation in Agasa. Indeed, created by Decree No. 292, PR, MAEPDR of July 10 modifying certain modifications of the subsidized decree, Agasa is considered, for the central administration, as being the sword of Damocles, thus plunging the agents of the central administration in technical unemployment since 2015,” declared the president of the national union of agricultural personnel (Synpa), Cyrlain Koumba Mba.

According to the latter, the election of Agasa, as a center of responsibility and personalized service of the State, was only an unfounded pretext by the leaders of the time to strip the central service of all these missions in a purely selfish and self-interested goal.

Also, according to the latter, the climate which prevails within this agency does not favor the smooth running of activities.

“The majority of civil servants are marginalized by the largest majority of contract agents and trainees who are not eligible for police executions and missions in the Gabonese Republic,” said the president, adding that Agasa, to date, is experiencing difficulties. difficulties in covering the entire national territory and guaranteeing the needs of the Gabonese in terms of food security. Namely, prevent and assess the needs of the Gabonese in terms of food security.

“We would like to inform national and international opinion of the permanent danger and potential risks likely to threaten the health of Gabonese people, if nothing is done at this level. Because the election of an establishment at the center of responsibilities within the meaning of the law requires compliance with a certain number of performance criteria and specific standards,” said the president of the union.

Finally, Cyrlain Koumba Mba announced the holding of a potential strike, in the event of non-return to the technical directorates of Agriculture of all the skills carried out by Agasa.
