In the opinion of Agriculture Minister Barbara Otte-Kinast (CDU), the planned double budget for 2022/23 does not contain enough money for her department. According to current plans, a total of around 25 million euros in state funds is missing to again receive federal funding of 38.5 million, as the Ministry of Agriculture in Hanover announced on Thursday on request.

The minister therefore asked the Agriculture Committee to provide the missing funds for these subsidies. In discussions over the past few days, the department has received signals that they are working intensively on solutions. The political journal Rundblick had previously reported on it.

According to “Rundblick”, it is about funds that are used to support village renewal. Such projects are often funded from several pots of money. “There is no parliamentary session without a debate on agriculture.” That makes it clear how relevant your ministry is. “I already feel like a loser in the cabinet,” the medium quoted the minister as saying.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the country plans a budget of 36.6 billion euros for the coming year and 37.1 billion euros for 2023. For both years, 340 million new debts are planned – 227 million and then 113 million. The double budget is expected to be passed in the state parliament at the end of the year.
