Breisach (dpa / lsw) – A new sign is supposed to bring peace between winegrowers, tourists and cyclists on Tuniberg in Breisgau. It is about everyone taking each other into consideration, said Matthias Reinbold from the Tuniberg Wein association on the occasion of the presentation of the nationwide unique signs on Tuesday near Breisach am Rhein (district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald). Farmers have complained because they have been parked. Pedestrians have complained about pesticides. And motorists would have to watch out for racing cyclists. “A difficult situation,” says Reinbold.
Therefore, they now want to put up around 40 signs on a stretch of almost 15 kilometers, which should indicate correct behavior. “If that doesn’t work, we have to see if we need another step,” said Reinbold. The situation worsened especially in Corona times because more day-trippers visited the “little brother of the Kaiserstuhl”. More people from Baden-Württemberg also went on holiday in the region. More people are out and about here.
There are similar conflicts when tourists, recreational athletes and agriculture come together elsewhere – for example on mountain bike trails in forests. Likewise, new signs have already been put up, for example on how to deal with cows in pastures. The Badischer Weinbauverband is interested in the project on the Tuniberg, said Reinbold. In his opinion, if it is successful, it could also find imitators in the Markgräfler Land or in the Black Forest.
