Agricultural source: the deterioration of the health of a new giraffe in Giza Park

An official source at the Ministry of Agriculture said that the health condition of one of the new giraffes coming from South Africa has deteriorated due to the cold weather that the country is going through, and the different weather conditions from its original homeland in South Africa.

The source explained that a committee was formed to try to aid the giraffe, after the guards revealed that it was unable to move in its home, stressing that the affected giraffe was a female and not a male.

Despite the Giza Zoo announcement Thursday morning, the naming of the three new giraffes coming from South Africa, but the giraffe house only appeared inside it without the third giraffe, while the zoo atmosphere was disturbed, and the keeper of the giraffe house was absent.

Dr. Mohamed Rajaei, head of the central administration of zoos at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, announced this morning, Thursday, that the names of the new giraffes coming from South Africa were settled last week and Egyptian and foreign names were chosen, explaining that the name “Farah” was given to one. Of them, because of the joy it brought to the Egyptians and park-goers, saying: “By looking at the records coming with giraffes from the country of South Africa, we found that one of them was called“ Sheki ”in its original homeland, and it was settled because the giraffe got used to it as it was found that it was a beautiful name. The male has called it “zizou”, which is a simple and easy name for the animal’s ear when it is called.
