Agricultural achievement: UAE Union Cooperative sets a record in supplying vegetables and fruits – Gulf

Union Coop announced in a statement today, Thursday, its achievement in supplying an amount of 30 million tons of vegetables and fruits, whether local or imported, during the first ten months of 2023. These efforts come within its policy to promote organic agriculture and support local producers.

Union Coop dealt with 35 companies and 45 farms to ensure a diverse and balanced supply of vegetables and fruits. The company stressed the importance of establishing Union Organic Farms to highlight sustainable organic agriculture and achieve significant savings in water consumption.

In this context, the cooperative added that it is committed to supplying 50 varieties of organic vegetables, with official certification from the Standards and Metrology Authority, to meet the needs of community members.

Union Cooperative emphasizes its continued support for local farmers, as it provides great facilities to encourage sustainable agriculture and achieve sustainable food security.

As part of its efforts to enhance communication with supplying companies and Emirati farms, Union Coop makes periodic visits to ensure its commitment to health and nutritional standards at all stages of production and distribution.

These steps come as part of efforts to enhance communication between farmers and local and international companies to achieve diversity and sustainability in the supply of goods and products to the cooperative branches.
