Doctor Zubía Roundabout
The Logroño City Council will redevelop the Glorieta del Doctor Zubía to respond to a historic demand from the neighborhood, create a meeting space and provide a pedestrian connection to three fundamental spaces in the heart of the city, such as the Glorieta itself, the Hundred Stores and the Old Town through Portales Street.
In this context, the Local Government Board has approved this morning the works project for the remodeling of this environment in its first phase, which focuses on pedestrian access to the Old Town and the Hundred Stores area and which has been drawn up by municipal technicians.
The intervention proposes a fan crossing itinerary that will cover the streets Portales, Muro del Carmen and Muro de Cervantes, which will be linked to the vertex of La Glorieta in a single traffic lighted platform as a large pedestrian crossing.
The Glorieta will thus act as a direct connection between the Hundred Stores and Portals, while the current street service will be maintained with the same criteria regarding traffic and vehicle circulation.
The current bike lane that runs through the Glorieta will be maintained, although integrated in a more balanced way with the new development of the square, which will have pedestrian preference.
To carry out this work, the Board has approved the contracting file and the launch of the bidding process, which will have a maximum amount of 694,998.20 euros (VAT included).
The second phase of the project, which will be put out to tender later, will focus on the central remodeling of the Glorieta del Doctor Zubía, in which aspects such as the replacement of 8,500 m2 of paved floor, 1,900 m2 of perimeter floor, living areas, renaturation, etc.
Draft tax ordinances
The Local Government Board has approved the Project of Fiscal Ordinances and the general ordinance of public rates and prices for next year, which must be ratified in the ordinary plenary session of the month of November for its entry into force on January 1, 2025.
The project is structured around the reduction of the tax burden and the simplification of the different local tax procedures to support Logroño families and stimulate the growth of the business and economic fabric of the city.
Oyón Ravine
The Local Government Board has approved the contracting file for the technical assistance service for the adaptation of the renaturalization and hydrological and environmental integration project of the Oyón ravine.
The bidding process, which will be launched in the coming days, will have an amount of 18,727.88 euros (VAT included).
This project aims to reduce the risk of flooding in this ravine, specifically in the section that affects the El Campillo neighborhood, while recovering the natural channel of the river.
Sanitation and drinking water network
The Local Government Board has approved the contracting file for carrying out small repairs and specific improvements in the municipal sanitation and drinking water networks for an amount of 152,000 euros (VAT included), which is broken down into four annual payments:
- Year 2025: 38,000 euros (VAT included).
- Year 2026: 38,000 euros (VAT included).
- Year 2027: 38,000 euros (VAT included).
- Year 2028: 38,000 euros (VAT included).
Electric vehicles for Civil Protection
With the aim of continuing to renew the municipal mobile park, the Local Government Board has approved the contracting file for the supply of two electric scooter-type motorcycles for the Civil Protection Group of Logroño, as well as proceeding to open the bidding process , which will have an amount of 19,360 euros (VAT included).
