ARENDAL: – I am glad that we are now one step closer to the establishment of our pioneering pilot factory. Our partner Fabritius has solid experience from several major projects, says CEO Terje Andersen of Morrow Batteries in a press release.

The pilot factory will be the first part of the construction of the large battery factory planned at Eyde Energy Park in Arendal. The expected start of construction for the pilot plant will be in February 2022. Work is already underway on the site.

The pilot plant is scheduled to be completed during the first quarter of 2023.

It is less than a year since Morrow decided to establish the giant battery factory in Arendal. After this, Arendal municipality, Morrow and partners have worked intensively to put in place zoning plans and infrastructure.

Fabgeirius’ CEO Asgeir Solheim says they are proud to take part in the green shift together with Morrow.

Veidekke will be engaged as a contractor, and a building application will be sent by the end of November.

The pilot factory building will be 23,500 square meters in size. In addition to a production facility, the building will have space for administration. This will also in the long run be the entrance to the entire factory area.
