San Luis Potosí, SLP.- “Today is a great day for the city and its inhabitants due to the construction of an alliance between the Municipal Government and the Potosino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (Ipicyt), a center that generates knowledge that opens its doors to solve major problems together,” said Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos at the signing of the “Collaboration Agreement for the Comprehensive Management of Lily in the San José Dam.”
This agreement between the San Luis Potosí City Council and Ipicyt ensures that we are on the threshold of a solution to proceed with the cleaning of the San José Dam: “This first signature is a window of opportunity for the city. Together, the scientific community of Ipicyt and the City Council technicians will be able to address the problem in depth,” emphasized the Mayor.
During the ceremony, a Manifesto for the Application of Science and Technology in Assistance to Society was also signed. The Director of Ipicyt, Luis Antonio Salazar Olivo, mentioned that both agreements highlight the importance of collaborative work between authorities and academic centers, which must be undertaken to solve the multiple problems that afflict modern and complex societies.
Salazar Olivo, on behalf of the scientific community, expressed gratitude to the Government of the Capital headed by Enrique Galindo, for responsibly addressing an issue as relevant as water, which – he added – “is essential for the development of life, so we are ready to collaborate with any level of government that allows us to ensure a socially responsible use of all our natural resources.”
