Chairman of the DPP PDIP Said Abdullah revealed the contents of the meeting between the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Mrs. EmpressGovernor of Central Java as well as deputy president of the PDIP Ganjar Pranowoand vice president of the Change Coalition Anies Baswedan during the pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The three are said to have agreed on a commitment regarding the 2024 Presidential Election. What is that?
“Miss Puan, Mas Ganjar and Mas Anies, the three of them were invited by the King (Saudi Arabia). Because they were invited by the King, the place was of course at one point called a guest house. It was in the guest house that the three of them met in Mecca, including the guest house in Mina,” said Said told reporters at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/7/2023).
Said emphasized that Puan, Ganjar and Anies did not talk about a political strategy in facing the 2024 political year. However, he said the three agreed on a commitment to make the implementation of the 2024 elections safe and peaceful.

“What is there is a joint commitment so that the 2024 Presidential Election will run peacefully and safely, the people will get something from the presidential election in the context of education from elite leaders,” he said.
Said said the national figures only discussed light topics during their pilgrimage. According to him, there was no substantive discussion in their meeting.
“That’s all, light things. We don’t touch things that are ‘substance’ because of what, we are in a state of worship,” he said.
Political researcher from the University of Indonesia Aditya Perdana previously hoped that Puan Maharani, Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan would maintain political conduciveness in Indonesia after returning from Hajj.
“We welcome the friendly gathering of the political elite who will participate in the election during the pilgrimage. This will cool the atmosphere,” said Aditya, when contacted, Saturday (1/7).
“This commitment must be maintained so that the meeting must be continued with concrete and strategic steps to keep things cool during the 2024 elections,” he said.
