Agreement between King Abdulaziz and Roosevelt, the forerunner of Saudi Arabia becoming a US ally

After the meeting, King Abdulaziz was summoned to meet Roosevelt personally. The meeting took place aboard the USS Quincy in the Suez Canal.

That special meeting resulted in both leaders signing the Quincy Pact.

During the presidency of George W. Bush in 2005, the agreement was renewed for another 60 years.

During this long period, everything went well and the relations between the two countries were also good until finally Prince Mohammed bin Salman al-Saud became Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in 2017.

When Joe Biden entered the White House as US president in January 2021, he completely ignored Prince Mohammed as Saudi Arabia’s de facto leader.
