Agnieszka Włodarczyk is honest about the pressure of breastfeeding
Lactation is different for each mother. For some, feeding is easy and comes naturally, while other women struggle with it. There can be many reasons: stress, everyone’s expectations, pain … In short, how many women, so many reasons. However, the problem that most young mothers pay attention to is the pressure from their surroundings. Włodarczyk is no exception.
The actress referred to the pressures that young mothers often face when it comes to natural feeding their babies – according to many, women who do not breastfeed are described as “lazy” and “selfish”, and the only acceptable option is feeding as long as possible naturally. The actress bluntly admitted that she did not know how long she would feed her son herself. She also noted that some women do not always have such an opportunity at all, for example for health reasons. As he claims, they should not be stigmatized because of this:
I do not know how long I will be feeding and for the moment I will not worry about it. I am happy with what is! And the pressure to breastfeed is unbearable. You want it, it is karma, you don’t want it, it’s also your business Besides, you don’t always have influence on it. Let’s not go crazy.
Pressure, guilt, and criticism lead to stress, which in turn can inhibit lactation. We should remember that each woman should have the right to choose and have the comfort to realize them stress-free.
