The Salvadoran Football Federation (FESFUT) would be facing a new lawsuit, by AGM, a company that said it was in charge of organizing the friendly matches of La Selecta, and that did not agree that the blue and white would face Bonaire, on March 20, and which supposedly represented “severe economic losses” for the company.
According to AGM, in November 2022, AGM and FESFUT entered into an agreement “by virtue” of which the company would organize up to twelve matches for La Selecta, between 2023 and 2024; This agreement was modified to organize a total of nine matches.
“AGM made a significant disbursement in favor of FESFUT, covering a large number of matches in advance to FESFUT. It is important to note that it was agreed that many of these matches would be held on FIFA dates and others on non-FIFA dates, given the saturation in the international match calendar,” indicated the plaintiff.
AGM assured that it organized five games: twice against Honduras, Japan, Korea and Argentina.
“During the first months of the contract, the contractual relationship performed as planned; However, in recent months FESFUT has failed to comply with the priority right granted. Firstly, the FESFUT granted rights to organize matches to the Major League of Soccer of El Salvador, obviously complicating the holding of matches on our part, since, since many of our matches were non-FIFA, obviously the Major League of Fútbol del Salvador will not accept the matches that we organize, since it will prefer that it be the one who organizes them and will not facilitate the players,” he added.
The company reported that the “most serious situation” was that the federation organized a match against Bonaire, which was played on March 20, when the matches against Honduras and Argentina had already been confirmed, which constituted a violation of the Regulations on the FIFA Statute and Transfer of Players and the FIFA International Match Calendar.
“All the teams played two friendly matches on this date, except for “La Selecta”, which played three. This violation brought severe economic losses and has seriously harmed AGM,” he indicated.
The company said that despite its attempt to prevent the FESFUT from holding the match against Bonaire, they have not received any response, therefore, “we have seen the urgent need to present a claim to the Disciplinary Commission of FIFA and a lawsuit before the Court of Arbitration for Sports,” AGM stated.
According to local sources, among the contracts there is also an alleged irregularity on the part of AGM, since the company has an alleged financial debt with the federation and, in addition, it violated a confidentiality clause so there could be a countersuit.
