New evidence is coming to light about the brutal crime in Agia Varvara, where a father-in-law killed his 56-year-old son-in-law and father of two minor children.
Stavros Balaskas revealed that one child was in front of the murder of his father, by his grandfather, with a deadly weapon, a carbine.
It is recalled that the man was found dead in the yard of his house, with the police being called by the son of the 69-year-old perpetrator. The two men had had a bad fight, and the reason that led the elderly man in Agia Barbara to shoot his son-in-law has not been made known.
The alleged perpetrator has been arrested and taken to the Attica security sub-directorate.

Specifically, a fight between a 69-year-old man and his 57-year-old son-in-law – a doctor by profession and father of two children – ended in tragedy in Agia Varvara on Filikis Etairias Street, around 7:15 in the afternoon of Saturday, February 24.
The son of the assailant notified the police – and he is a police officer himself – and according to information, when the police arrived the assailant was walking around with a rifle in his hand.
The 69-year-old’s daughter, who had gone to Sparta to her place of origin, was immediately notified.
The vice-president of the Union of Police Officers of Athens, Nikos Rigas, said that, no matter what happened, a homicide is a homicide. And it shouldn’t happen like this, in addition to the victim who runs away and the abuser who destroys the rest of his life, fatherless children and a broken family are left behind. The perpetrator has been arrested and will be brought to justice.”

According to information, the victim asked his wife’s brother to look after one of the two children because he had to go to work with the other.
When the perpetrator was informed of this, he set up a cartel on the victim and with two shots with a carbine took his life on the sidewalk in front of their house.
The neighbors are in shock and as they say they never expected this development. In addition, they point out that there have been no incidents of domestic violence in the family.

As Stavros Balaskas pointed out, “The abuser claims that his daughter was not having a good time at all and that he had very serious problems with the victim. However, what the 69-year-old claims, is denied by his police officer son. In the present case, there was an altercation, a fight and the result was the shooting. When his son heard this, he immediately went downstairs and told him “what did you do” and immediately called 100. When Immediate Action arrived they arrested the 69-year-old. The wife of the unfortunate urologist went to the police station to testify. the one small minor child was carried in front of the killer, when the victim was handing over the child to his wife’s brother for safekeeping”.
