Apple has sold the last few generations of iPhones as waterproof. However, according to the Authority, it did not sufficiently explain on the Italian market that increased resilience only works under certain conditions.

At the same time, antitrust officials were upset that Apple had confused customers with a disclaimer. According to him, the warranty on apple smartphones does not apply in the event of liquid damage. In other words – phones are waterproof, but if you damage them with liquid, you are out of luck in the complaint procedure.

In Apple’s defense, it should be added that the warranties of other smartphone manufacturers work similarly. However, they seem to be sufficiently aware of the circumstances under which phones are waterproof. For example, to what depth and for how long they can be used below the water surface.

The fine also took into account the fact that in the event of damage to the telephones by water or other liquids, no further technical support was provided to the Italians.

The new iPhones 12 are also waterproof, but the fine was imposed mainly due to previously introduced devices.

What can the latest twelve do?
Before this Christmas, Apple is attracting four new iPhones. The individual models differ from each other mainly in the size of the screen. The new iPhone 12 will offer a 6.1-inch screen, the smaller version a 5.4-inch screen. Two sizes are also available for the more luxurious Pro edition, namely the iPhone 12 Pro boasts a 6.1-inch display and the iPhone 12 Pro Max a 6.7-inch display. The Pro versions will be more luxurious and will have an extra telephoto lens on the back.

The design of all the innovations is dramatically different from all its predecessors. Apple is basically going back to the era of the popular iPhone 5, where the sharp edges of a metal frame played a primary role instead of rounded sides. Many rock fans will certainly welcome this design change, simply because the construction is lighter, thinner and basically smaller.

The increase in performance is practically taken for granted in the next generation of iPhones. Representatives of the American computer giant, however, boasted that the work pace is so brisk that, for example, League of Legends will run on apple phones, which is a popular video game designed primarily for classic computers. In doing so, Apple made it clear how dramatically the performance had increased. This is due to the Apple A14 Bionic chip, which has all four innovations.

Of all four novelties, the 12 mini version is the cheapest, and potential applicants will pay CZK 21,990 for it. Version 12 Pro Max then starts at CZK 33,990. The two previously introduced apple smartphones are offered from CZK 24,990 (iPhone 12) and CZK 29,990 (iPhone 12 Pro), respectively.
