Entje M. (30), who is an alcoholic, was arrested on Thursday by the police of the Zanderij bureau. In a drunken state, the man made the lives of both the villagers and his family miserable and threatened them with death. For fear of reprisals, the family has never reported him before.
In the night of Wednesday 28 to Thursday 29 October Entje went to a party in the indigenous village of Pikin Saron, where he looked deep into the glass. After the party, he went home, where he lives with his mother and sister. The sister who was cooking meat in the kitchen at the time spoke to him about his drinking. Entje raged against the sister and threatened to kill her.
He then took a piece of meat from the jar and then put it in a bottle of cherries in vinegar, which the mother and sister use to earn a living every day. There was then a verbiage between brother and sister. At one point Entje grabbed an empty beer bottle, with which he attacked his sister. Despite the sister running away, the drunkard chased her and threw the bottle at her. The bottle broke, shattering the sister during her flight and injuring both feet.
The mother who tried to get between her children to prevent worse was knocked over by Entje. She fell, but suffered no significant injuries.
The injured sister was taken to the RGD outpatient clinic in Zanderij for medical treatment, where she received three stitches.
The drunkard was arrested and taken to the police station for sobering up. After his sobering up, Entje was brought before and after consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, put in custody.
